Transport Manager Training

It is a requirement of all companies that operate with a Standard or Standard International Operators Licence that they have at least one designated Transport Manager.

To become a designated Transport Manager a person needs to have passed the Transport Managers Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

Examinations take place quarterly throughout the year and the training takes places for the two weeks leading up to the examination.

HGVD have a designated classroom for the purpose of CPC Training.

Refresher Training

The Traffic Commissioners are now requesting that all designated Transport Managers should undergo a two day refresher course every five years.

There is no examination with this course and it can be held in the HGVD classroom or on suitable premises elsewhere.

External Transport Manager

For small companies HGVD can facilitate their Operator Licence requirements by acting as an External Transport Manager.

This involves a visit to company premises each month to check on procedures but also involves the use of technology to monitor operations.
