Operator Licence Applications

HGVD will provide all the support and advice required to ensure a successful application.

A company is required to have an Operator Licence if they have a vehicle that has a gross plated weight of over 3500 kgs.

There are three types of licence:

Restricted Licence

This is for carrying your own company goods but not those belonging to other companies.

Standard Licence

This allows you to carry goods for ‘hire and reward’ as well as your own company’s goods only in the UK.

Standard International Licence

This allows you to carry your own and other company’s goods on International journeys.

There is a fee to be paid with each application and a further fee for the issue of each licence.

The Traffic Commissioner will also want to see proof of the Financial Standing of the company that is applying for the licence.

Variation of Licence

If there is a requirement to change the details on an existing licence, HGVD will also undertake this requirement to satisfy the Traffic Commissioner.

HGVD will ensure that everything is presented correctly in all instances and will also sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement to ensure confidentiality.
